Cushions – My top 5!

Cushions.  They’re the decorative accessory that just keep giving.

Really, they do.

I’ve alluded to my unhealthy obsession with cushions in a previous blog post.  I don’t want to repeat myself but I WILL say this.

Once you develop an appreciation for the design merits of cushions, you won’t look back.  Your life will never be the same again.

You’ll try (desperately) to convince others of their greatness too.  But hey, if other people don’t ‘get it’, that’s their problem, right?

Never take your cushion for granted.  Actually, I think you should probably go RIGHT NOW and plump your cushions.

Yea, that’s right.  EVERY single one.

Plump them!  

Plump ’em good!

So, in celebration of the humble cushion, I did a bit of online snooping and decided to share my top 5.

Edgy, grungy painted prints on cushions is STILL a huge trend and is awesome in an urban, contemporary space BUT this style of cushion can be incorporated into a more eclectic interior to help inject a little bit of quirkiness.

At £15.00 this cushion is a steal.  A STEAL!  M&S have illustrated that whilst they may be known for more subdued styling, they can still have a little fun by going all neon pink on us.  The genius in this cushion, is the restrained shot of colour.  LOVE.

I gotta admit, I’m not a fan of animal/nature prints, I’ve yet to establish why but the instant I clapped eyes on this cushion from Harlequin, I was entranced.  It’s so graceful and sophisticated that it DESERVES a spot on my top 5.

This cushion from Andrew Martin has it all: it’s kooky, vintage inspired AND has typography.

    I was immediately attracted to the colour palette of this cushion.  The combination of navy and pink (the John Lewis website has described this colour as ‘red’…huh?) is pretty nifty, with very on trend retro vibes.  The geometric pattern could be a deal breaker for some due to its three dimensional quality but that just makes me love it even more.  Click here for more info.
